Today The Blind Squirrel Couldn't Find The Nut :(

Jack and Tom joined me this morning for round two of our 3 day session this week.  As you already saw from day one, Jack had himself another fish of a lifetime, but today was to be different.  Even though we have caught several muskies together in the past, Jack enjoys "Heckling the Guide" so to speak, and is always looking for more.  Our mission today, Get Tom A Fish!  Unfortunately Tom has to try again tomorrow for his first ever muskie.  Although we didn't catch any today, we still had a great time and when Jack is in my boat there is never a dull moment.  If he were in the boat with a guide that didn't know him, they would go insane with the pressure that he brings.  However, I am use to it, and I continuously tell him throughout the day that even if he caught a 60 pounder that he wouldn't be happy unless he had two 60 pounders.  The man is great and I love hitting the water with him.  I just know that Tom is destined to catch one of these toothy buggers.  I sure as heck hope that it happens tomorrow.  Today we saw a few fish, but the massive cold front and high pressure just turned them off completely.  We had some lazy follows and attempts by the fish, but no takers.  In fact some of them were so lazy that we could see them laying in the weeds after we casted over them.  Apparently soaking up the sun was more important than eating today, and they did their usual soak up the sun on the surface routine.  I literally poked one of them with my rod tip as it layed in the milfoil just to show Jack that it truly was a musky.  That is another funny thing about our trips.  We have two different counts for our day.  We have the fish count that Jack and Tom see, and then the fish that I see following their baits that they don't see.  Jack says nope after I said he had a follow and he adds it to the unconfirmed list.  Apparently they need to be in the net in order to be confirmed, so as you can imagine there are many fish on my list, and usually only a couple on his.  Too much fun gentlemen!  Thanks again for another wonderful morning on the water.  For any of you who are wondering, I am not giving these guys a rough time, I am simply continuing with the chatter we have from the boat, and it is all in good fun.  Tomorrow???? Another one in the boat guys???  Tom's First??? I need to start a new streak now....
