It's All About Timing....

This morning I was joined by Bret and Wade after what else, the muskies!  Our morning was particularly interesting because of the lack of aggression that we were seeing in the fish.  Obviously knowing that they are the pickiest creatures in the fresh waters of North America we knew that if we would just keep at it that things could pay off.  Well you guessed it, our morning changed in the matter of seconds.  We went from seeing absolutely nothing in 3 hours to netting a very fat 45 incher.  This was one of the healthiest looking fish that I've seen come out of this lake.  As you can tell from the smaller head and the larger body, this is a young fish that has some true potential in the coming years.  The majority of our conversation on the water was me saying that it is all about being in the right place at the right time when the fish decide to eat.  We sure made that work out on this day, and that puts Bret at 3 Muskies the last 3 times he has been in my boat.  Those are pretty darn good odds Bret!  Our persistence paid off, and although that fish looked at our bait at least a dozen times in the previous hours, he finally couldn't handle himself and had to eat.  Nice work Bret and congrats on another true Trophy!  I love this sport:)
