With the long labor day weekend, I decided to leave the fish alone, get some sleep, spend time with my lovely lady, and hit a few golf balls around. Yep, that's right, I didn't cast a single muskie lure for 3 days. That all changed this morning, when Jeff and I hit the water to celebrate his birthday. I guess we will call it a good birthday present, as he landed his first muskie while targeting them. This wasn't his first muskie ever, because he has caught them walleye and bass fishing, but very exciting to catch them while casting for them. This fish took us by surprise on the last spot of the morning. We might have had two or three casts left on the spot, but that's it, and this fish stopped him dead in his tracks It just goes to show ya that you never know when it will happen. I say this every morning, but it's important to stick with it, have patience, and expect the unexpected. That's how muskie fishing goes! On a side note to this muskie. There is a new lure in town that has me very excited. I will fill you in on the details very soon, but I plan on putting some serious fish in the boat with this bait. Until next time, Keep on Livin' the Dream!
