Bone Collecting!!

Yesterday around noon I looked out my window and saw how nice it was just had to get outside.  Since i have yet to take down my bowhunting stands from last fall, I decided it was a great day to head to the woods to enjoy Gods incredible creation.  As I was walking down to the woods after I parked my truck, I noticed a ridiculous amount of deer tracks in the mud.  In this particular woods, the deer occasionaly pick it as there winter home.  Well this was one of those years, the whole woods was littered with deer sign!  As you could imagine, I walked in only about 50 yards before I saw a deer standing there looking at me.  It eventually trotted off into its glory and I continued my way to the first stand.  When I reached an area at the top of a hill, I saw an opening in a field and saw a deer run across the opening, followed by 2 more, then another, about 30 seconds later i counted 18 deer that came through that opening!!  I am sure I didn't see the first one either, so I imagine there could have been 20 to 30 of them in there!!  I walked to the corner of the woods and took stand 1 down.  On my walk to stand 2 and 3, i came across 13 turkeys!  Just being in the midst of all this was such an incredible feeling!  As I walked down a ravine to another stand I jumped 6 more deer that were bedded!!  It was crazy!!  After I had all the stands in a big pile I decided to walk a few trails in search of the spring woods gold that we call sheds.  I have only found a few in my life and they were both random sheds that were found in the fall while hunting.  I have never found one in the spring while actually searching for them.  I looked for about an hour and immediately decided that it was like finding a needle in a haystack and was about to give up when I stopped and looked straight down to see one right at my feet buried in the grass!!  You can see in the first picture that it blended in very nicely, but luckily I stopped right on top of it!!  The second picture zooms in on it.  It was a nice 5 point shed!  I have read there is a good chance that the matching one is within a hundred yards of the first one you find, so I thought what the heck and kept looking.  Well about 15 minutes in to searching again, I was bored(I know, I lack the patience to be a shed hunter!!).  I stopped and sat down on a log and was just enjoying the March sun radiating heat across me when I realized I was staring another shed about 20 feet in the woods!!  I ran to it and held the 2 together and they are unmistakable a perfect match!!  It was about 250 yards from the first one.  All I can say is I came across the ultimate needle in this haystack!!  Hauling the 3 stands a half mile out of the woods wasn't so bad after finding my hidden treasure!!  All I have to say is that it was a percect Monday afternoon!!  From the bone covered woods floor, Keep Livin' the Dream!!
