Meet Ben Brettingen
From a young age Ben was chasing anything with feathers, fur or fins. He spent every waking moment in the woods or on the water, and when he wasn't outside, he was collecting every bit of knowledge. It was during his 8th summer he found a new love, the mighty Muskie. His mother took him to the T-dock without thinking he would have any takers, but Ben thought other wise.
The surface exploded with a Muskie that was up to Ben's rib cage. Every year the fish seem to get bigger along with his passion. After that day he has had a keen liking for this mysterious fish. The only thing that he would rather do than fish would be to help introduce more children to the great outdoors.
Along with fishing Ben spends a lot of his fall in the woods chasing deer, ducks and everything in-between. During his 18th summer Ben started guiding on local lakes. He is on the water almost everyday finding new honey holes and the hottest lakes in the area.
He spends most of his days on Lake Waconia, but also spends time on Minnetonka, Lake of the Woods, Rainy River, lake Winnebigoshish, Detroit Lakes Area and many other local lakes. When he is not on the water you can find him working behind the counter at the In Towne Marina on Lake Waconia.
Ben now attends North Dakota State University, which is smack dab in the middle of some of the greatest waterfowl hunting in the country. His growing autumn obsessions are chasing big Whitetails with bow and keeping on the water in search of the almighty Muskie! If you are interested in a guided fishing trip in the summer or an amazing Waterfowl hunt in North Dakota email him at Ben@Trophyencounters.com or give him a call at (952) 239-3829 . He looks forward to see everyone on the water or in the woods!
